2008 traxxas slash
The platform that started it all! One of the most proven Traxxas families, utilizes a long travel suspension, centered chassis, and the durability of Traxxas. The original Slash was a2wd Short course truck (SCT), coming with a ProGraphix painted shell, a Titan 550 motor and XL-5 ESC, an included NiMh battery that reaches a speed of 30 MPH. It was completely waterproof but stuff still rusts, so blow off metal afterwards. Easy to work on, and plenty of hop-ups to max the performance. Later, a 4x4 version was released. A big power plant, the VXL-3500 motor and a VXL3-s ESC that is capable of 3 cell LiPo. Maxxing out at a brutal 65+ MPH, one of the best Traxxas trucks out there. A Slash was re-released with the Slash 4x4's power, the Velineon. Slash VXL is one epic truck at a Maxx 60 mph speed. The Slash 4x4 has yet had another re release, the Ultimate edition. It has Big Bore alloy shocks, sway bars, center diff, alloy knuckles, alloy steering blocks, and alloy locking nuts. From 2008 to 2012 and beyond, this is the best SCT out there.
